French Actress Isabelle Adjani

Early Life

Isabelle Adjani or Isabelle Yasmine Adjani was born on 27 June 1955. She was born in Paris in an unusual social condition. It is the immigrant area that is located in the rural side of Paris called Hauts de Seine. Her father, Mohammed Cherif Adjani is an Algerian. He played a role in World War II defending France’s side by joining the army. Adjani’s mother, Augusta, is a German. Because of her father’s role in the army, she spent most of her time with her mother. Because of that, she speaks German very well since she was a kid. There is also an indication that Isabelle Adjani with her family had once moved to Germany in regency called Bavaria.

Growing Up

 

Adjani was growing as a talented girl. She was known as a smart girl in her school. She also once won a contest of recitation in her school which probably strengthened her passion in acting. After that, she joined a theatre group as an actress when she was still very young. She was just 11 years old at that time. The passion of acting was growing in her soul indicated by her first debut in her first movie. The title of the film is Le Petit Bougnat. The film was produced in 1970 when Isabelle was still 14 years old.

 

Career

 

Adjani’s acting was noted at the first time when she played in L’École des Femmes. But, it is not a significant change to her career. In 1974 she acted in La Gifle which brought her career a bit brighter. Then, some following films she played after that were responded to enthusiastically by some film critics highlighting her talents in acting. Starting from there, some of her films had brought her to be in the list of some nominations of some awards in film industry. This also brings her to a higher publication as a celebrity. She was once noted as one of the most beautiful people by people magazine.

 

Films and Awards

 

By listing of Adjani’s films, you will be able to notice that Adjani is one of the best actresses from France. But, what makes it become more notable is her achievements. She had won five award of the César Award for the category of the Best Actress. The awards are for her role in the films of Possession, One Deadly Summer, Camille Claudel, Queen Margot, and Skirt Day. She was also nominated for Academy Award two times.  In 1981 which seems to be her best year in career, she was awarded double Best Actress in Cannes Film Festival.

Personal Life

Adjani has been linked to some men in her life following her career in film industry. Some of the men in her life are also those related to film industry. A cinematographer, Bruno Nuytten is her first pair. From this relationship, she got a son named Barnabé Nuytten. She was also occasionally related to an actor named Warren Beatty that many people assume that they must have a romance affair. Daniel Day Lewis is also a man that is known as Adjani’s partner. The drama is that after they broke up, Adjani got a baby named Gabriel Kane Day Lewis. A composer Jean Michel Jarre was the only musician that has a personal relation to her but it ends in break up.
